Turtle Hatchery Centre

PD Beaches are well known for turtle landings especially the Hawksbill species by the locals for many years.

In June 2010, GBR collaborated with FRI Rantau Abang to set up a turtle hatchery centre. The main reason for setting up the centre is to create awareness to protect and educate especially the PD community to help bring all the turtle eggs found on the PD beaches to be hatched and recorded in this new hatchery centre.

The new hatchlings are then released to the sea by batches. This is our CSR project and we involve our guest and groups in many turtle activities while we educate them on our turtle conservation efforts.
